Angenieux 25-625 f/4

This is a long range zo0om by Angenieux in France. It is designed for 35 mm cine format (18x24 mm) and was used by Stanley Kubrick to shot a scene in his war movie: "Thin Metal Jacket". I tried this zoom on a Sony F3 HD with Super 35 format, and it worked well. The lens sometimes shifted out of focus, and came back to focus, and this is perhaps due to its age. I is a huge lens with relatively wide aperture. Back in the days, the film didn't have as much sensitivity as the CMOS sensors, and they needed larger apertures for motion picture cameras. Angeneiux still make some of the longest zoom range lenses for cinema.
