Binoculars

Binoculars have, in most part, been designed for hunters, and bird watchers. There are also larger aperture binoculars used by astronomers. Various prism layouts has been invented to make them more compact, and to reduce aberrations. Because of  their magnification, and larger that pupil objective lenses, they magnify both stereoscopic effect, and brightness of the subject. The porro-prism design also doubles the eye distance, further increasing the stereoscopic effect of nature scenes. Mountains look almost flat to the naked eye beyond 300 meters. Binoculars would spread them out in depth up to a few kilometers.
