Brass Microscope

100 year old Brass microscope in wooden box. It is designed to be used for both transparent samples on a glass slide as well as opaque samples from nature. Included is a smaller than standard size glass slided for sample preparation. There is a lower mirror in this microscope for transmission illumination, and a focusing condenser lens for illumination of opaque objects. The focusing is a push and pull type, magnification is around 30X.

Brass field microscope disassembly shows its simple construction. A closeup of the objective lenses are shown on the left. Two small lenses are stacked together to form the objective lens with reasonable image quality. Overall height is around 170 mm. The objective working distance is 20 mm.
