Konica FS1

Konica FS1 was the first SLR camera with built-in motorized winder. No one thought this was possible at the time but Konica placed the AA batteries inside its hand grip, and became a pioneer in such body grip as well. If you look carefully, you'll find electronics contacts coming out of the pentaprism housing. I modified this camera to interface it to a computer during my undergrad studies. I was studying computer science and hardware design, and I realized all the release sequence in these cameras could be computer controlled. This was an era of microcomputers, and cameras became electronically sequenced rather than mechanically controlled.

Konica FS1 hooked to a microcomputer board via an 8-pin connector cable to set its aperture, run its shutter, and film advance.
