Lenzkorich

Restoration of Lenzkorich alarm clock for OMiD museum was both challenging, and fun. The internal pendulum is unique to this watch. All the mechanical parts are precision made with hard brass, and steel.   This clock was made in Germany by Lenzkorich watch factory. in 1882. The mechanism looks like it has been designed to mount on a decorative wooden or porcelain housing.

Fitting the pendulum inside a desktop alarm clock before the invention of escapement wheel. The alarm arm strikes on the metal body (right) held with three pent pins extruding on from the back of the clock (below, right).

Side views of the mechanism reveals parts making in the sewing machine fashion. There is an alarm mechanism, and two springs to drive the clock movement, and the alarm mechanism.
