Links

We'd love to see every aspect of camera design history be preserved. If you do a search on search engines, you'll notice information gets pushed on top of each other. There are companies who get paid for doing this. So if someone isn't paying for their information to stay on top, it gets buried! This is why having websites like Wikipedia are so crucial for maintaining crucial information, and having their own search engine.

There is always a place for optimism, and there are numerous loyal people out there who are making good use of internet to share all the information they have about cameras with the general public.

Back in the days, camera manufacturers were so secretive even about their repair manuals but now they are made available for free download. One good place to download them is: learncamerarepair.com. These sites will provide repair guides but learning camera design requires your own research, and extensive study.

We offer a wide range of links for both optics, and watchmaking because they used to go hand in hand in their not so distant past. Time keeping and opto-mechanics shared the same tools to achieve the high level of precision necessary in their trades. Before accurate clocks were made, astronomy, and telescopes were used to tell time, and Hasselblad employees built clocks before making cameras. Both opto-mechanics, and time keeping need packaging. While we base our decision to purchase products based on their packaging, these companies, focus more on their inner quality, and less on fashion whims. Companies like Apple, Leica, Patek, Lange Sohne, and even NASA invent fashion rather than following it.
