Porcelain Clock

Restoration of an antique clock from 1930’s for OMiD museum was both challenging, and fun. The porcelain housing was designed, and fabricated in Germany while the movement was Swiss made. Everything sounded so easy although the mechanical alignment between porcelain, and the precision clock’s assembly was not entirely an easy accomplishment.

This clock movement is Swiss made, while the body is made of porcelain. The front, and back plates clamp the clock movement inside the housing.

The escapement is typical of those made in desktop alarm clocks. Interesting way of attaching the knobs to end of control/winding stems, via left hand, and right hand screws, and square shaped couplings.
